The South side is home to the University and many middle range guest houses. The South Side is easy to get to and has fantastic open parks like the Meadows and Holyrood on the doorstep.
Magnificent 17th-century mansion with period features, set in its own 13 acres of gardens below Arthur's Seat with Highland cattle and peacocks strutting around. All this only five minutes from Princes Street. A new wing was added recently, increasing the number of rooms to 31. The expensive restaurant is not the best around by any means, but dining here is something special.
